Tag Question: Eric is looking for new employees for his company, isn’t he?

Q: Why is this called a tag question?

A: Because it’s a question tagged onto the end of the sentence.

Q: When do we use tag questions?

A: When we are almost sure something is true, but we want to check and make sure.

Q: When I’m asking a tag question, how do I know if the tag should be positive or negative?

A: If the sentence is positive, the tag is negative. If the sentence is negative, the tag is positive.

Q: What verb tense do I use in the tag?

A: Use the same verb tense in the tag that is used in the beginning of the statement.
