Recycling Lesson 1 - Intro
Who can describe what recycling is? How many of you separate your trash for recycling? Do you know where your waste/trash goes?

| 1. Get into groups of 4 students. |
| 2. Make a list of all the things you put in your trash at home. |
| 3. List your trash into different categories. (paper, glass, metal, plastics, etc.) |
| 4. Identify where each item goes. (landfill, recycled, etc.) |
| 5. Review and Present your list to the class. |
1. Read "The Importance of Recycling" (Handout) 2. Each group will be assigned one paragraph to read and answer question(s) 3. Share what you read with the class and the answer to your question. |
